The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter tells Blender magazine: "'Gangsta rap' was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other. 'Gangsta rap' didn't exist."

So if "gangsta rap" was invented by the government so that blacks would kill each other, then Country Music was invented to get girls pregnant to create more white people.

I mean, puh-leez!

George Strait is therefore responsible for more babies being born than Ice Cube is for kids being killed.

Did you follow that logic? Gooder than hers, eh?

"My comments about `gangsta rap' were in no way trying to suggest that the government is responsible for creating this genre of rap music," Keys said in a statement issued by J Records. "The point that I was trying to make was that the term was oversloganized by some of the media causing reactions that were not always positive. Many of the `gangsta rap' lyrics articulate the problems of the artists' experiences and I think all of us, including our leaders, could be doing more to address these problems including drugs, gang violence, crime, and other related social issues."

"Oversloganized"? Yeah, that's a rap term. I'm not buying it, but at least she's trying to get out ahead of this. If only Barack had hired her PR firm, he might be out from under the Rev Wright problem.

Hillary dodges truth, not snipers

This week has been full of news: Obama's defense of his wacko-nutjob pastor, discussions about Superdelegates, the stock market impersonating a yo-yo, etc.

None of us doubts that Hillary lies, and will spin anything she can to win the nomination and the Presidency. I think she's toast, and said so here, when Corvair Nader entered the race. She's a goddamn fraud, and she'll say anything to steal the nomination from Obama (now THERE'S a surprise).

From Hot Air, here's a video of Hillary caught in an absolute lie about visiting Tuzla when she was Worst Lady. This is the same type of outrage as the Army private that lies about his service, and lies about his medals, or the bozo that says he was a SEAL, when he was a cook.

It shows a clearly confident and unconcerned Hillary Clinton strolling off of her airplane, with a smiling 15-year-old Chelsea in tow, and stopping on the tarmac for the greeting ceremony Hillary claims never took place. Instead of dodging sniper fire from the hills, Hillary stops to listen to a poem from a Bosnian girl, and to thank the girl and embrace her. At no point in this video does Hillary show any sense of danger or haste.

Hillary Clinton lied about Tuzla. She lied about it to make people believe in her qualifications to handle national crises. If she sells her Tuzla greeting as a harrowing encounter with death, what other delusions would she try to sell us as President?

Just wait and see what happens if Obama wins the popular vote and the elected delegate count on the road to the nomination...and the Superdelegates give the nomination to Hillary. We'll have to wipe the blood off the streets in Denver and Chicago. And if you think Pastor Wright has caused racial tensions, just wait for the smoke-filled back room delegates to give the nomination to Hillary.

At least it will be the Democrats that steal the nomination from Obama.

Obama and the Black Church

I would like to take this discussion in a little different direction.

Sure, I think Obama screwed the pooch on this whole fiasco. He's toast as far a being an agent of change. Everyone (well, that I know anyway) knows he's just pandering, just admitting enough to try to stay in the race, stay in for the nomination. What -- we're surprised when a politician spins? Puh-LEEZ!

But here's a bigger issue that's bothering me. I have been in black churches before. Not in 25 years, but back in my college days, and for a few years after, I attended a black church in Dallas at the invitation of a couple of friends of mine. Not my style, but pretty cool, looking back on it. A lot of singing, a lot of "amen!", and my first experience of an electric guitar in a church.

But the congregation was not full of moonbats. We were regular people, from all walks of life, singing, dancing, and praying. Again, not really my style, but recognizable to my Lutheran experience.

My issue is -- what's going on in Obama's "black church"? I mean, can black congregations seriously believe 9/11 was in inside job? That AIDS was invented by the government and introduced to kill people of color? That the black congregation must remain loyal above all to "black first". What lunacy is this? That's my reaction.

But then...if these churches really believe these things...doesn't that mean that, for all of our "coming together", all of our fighting "racism"....doesn't it mean we've failed? Because if there is a large number of people that truly believes this...then racism is much bigger NOW than it ever was. Racism is rampant. Doesn't that follow?

And it means that the "black church" is giving lip service to equality. It's almost the reverse of what we in the South have always been accused of...saying we're not racists, but acting racist in private. The "black church" would be doing the same thing. They've be guilty of as large a hypocrisy. They would be giving lip service to getting along, all the while preaching racism against whites.

This would seem to be a big hidden bomb...wouldn't it? It's hidden white racism turned on its head. And how in the world do we face each other at work, at the store, on the playground, at school, if this is TRULY what's being preached and believed in these "black churches".

Commenter after commenter on the talk shows asked black guests, "You don't really believe these vile things being said by Wright, do you?" And you know what...they go out of their way to stumble out an explanation like "Well, you have to put it in context" or "No, I don't believe it, but you can see how people could". I mean, if someone asked me "Do you believe Hitler was right about the Jews?", I'd say "Of course not! Are you nuts?". Why, then, aren't the black church goers, AND OBAMA, saying "This guy is nuts...but we just tune him out". That would be better (not perfect)...better than the equivocation we got today in which Obama said he could no more turn his back on Wright than on the black church.

I tell you what...if our dear Pastor HC said this crazy stuff, we'd take him out for a beer and get his mind right. And if he kept it up...well, we'd commit him to the loony bin. Right, HC?

I mean, this really bothers me. I don't give a damn about Obama...or Hillary. I care about what seems to be going on just below the surface in America's "black churches". Can it really be as bad as Obama's moronic rant would indicate? As bad as Pastor Wright? And Obama seems to be missing this point. If he thinks he's gonna get elected with a whack-job like that for a pastor, he's still on the coke.

Still. It's a $140 BILLION contract for new aerial refueling tankers. Some of our KC-135's are over 50 years old.

The choices are Airbus or Boeing. Period.

So STFU and award the contract to Boeing. Jesus, this is not a hard decision.

UPDATE: The Air Farce awarded the contract to EADS/Airbus. Sure, they're trying to make it look patriotic by using Northrop as a front. But if this was being investigated by the FEC, they'd make Northrop give the money back.

I'm a free market kinda guy. I always argued against protectionism in the auto industry when the Japanese were kicking Detroit's butt. However, this is a national defense issue. As one blogger noted, what happens if a supplier to EADS decides it doesn't like the US position and stops shipping some vital part? We're screwed, is what happens.

We sure as hell wouldn't outsource JDAM production; why would we put our tanker fleet at risk?

This is what happens when you let the junior service make decisions. Good thing my dad's no longer with us; he'd mail his wings to the Sec of the AF. Pretty funny, though: the Air Force gets a West Pointer at it's helm (how's that for mixed metaphors?).

Coalition forces discover disguised truck-bomb

MOSUL, Iraq – Coalition forces discovered a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device disguised as a Red Crescent food relief truck in southeastern Mosul Feb. 15.

The truck was labeled with hospital markings but contained eight 55-gallon drums with more than 5,000 pounds of unknown bulk explosives.

The discovery was made during a route clearance operation as part of Operation Phantom Phoenix. Because of the proximity of the VBIED to civilian population, an explosive ordnance disposal team determined the truck would need to be removed from the neighborhood before its destruction.

“A VBIED detonation of this size would kill or injure many innocent civilians. This just shows how ruthless al Qaeda is and their lack of concern for the effect of their operations on the Iraqi people,“ said Lt. Col. Christopher Johnson, commander of 1st Battalion, 8th Infantry Regiment.

Bush Derangement Syndrome

I was in Spain this past week at a sales meeting. We had folks from all over the world together for 3 days of hard work (yeah, right).

At dinner one night, I was at a table of 10, with mostly Brits and Irish (with the odd Swede joining us -- and I do mean odd. ;-)

At one point during the evening, one of my co-workers asked the money question - who would I vote for in the upcoming election? You know what they say about not discussing religion or politics in an open session like this, but hey, he started it. I answered that my candidate was not running, so I was very disappointed in the choices I faced this November. Now, of course I worded it this way on purpose, to get the next question asked -- who was my candidate?

I stated, "Well, it's against the law for him to run again, but if he could, I'd vote for George Bush in a minute".

It was as if all of the air was sucked out of the room, as 9 others took in deep breaths of astonishment. Oh boy, this was going exactly as I wanted it to! Here was the largest display of shock and awe (well, ok, not awe) that I'd seen since I stated my opinion that we should Nuke Iran.

What followed was 30 minutes of lively debate between your humble scribe and an English sales guy. Now, I respect his opinion, and wasn't trying to change it...but, really, he had so little of substance to back up his horror at my statement and his hatred for GWB that he really embarrassed himself. Not that any of the others at the table swung over to my view...it's just that he sure couldn't back up his arguments.

First he stated that it was the Bush swagger that bothered him the most. I said, "OK, so your argument is that you don't like him because of his posture?" No, no, no, said he -- it was Bush's arrogance that drove him mad. "So your main objection to Bush is his personality?" I was backing him into a corner and he just couldn't get out of it.

Next he said that he objected to America's unilateral attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq. Unilateral? In the first Gulf War, we had a coalition of over 50 countries, and UN approval to go in. In the latest Gulf War, we had a new coalition and UN approval. How unilateral is that? I stated these facts, plus said, "Hey, not that I give a crap about the UN's approval, but at least we got it. How in the hell can you say that we acted unilaterally?" No answer, of course.

I said look, why don't you just tell me why you don't like GWB...and be specific about policies or actions that he's taken that you don't like.

Of course, it was Iraq. How could I possibly support having our troops in Iraq? I reminded him that British troops were fighting alongside ours...to which he responded, "I don't support our troops being there, either".

Without going through the entire escapade, suffice it to say that I was adamant that we are fighting a war against people that would rather blow us up than live side-by-side with us. He said that if we weren't so arrogant, and tried to get along with others better, we would be more respected and accepted in the world. I laughed in his face. I pointed to one of the women at our table and said, "Hey, in their world, if she were to go outside of her house alone, without a male escort, sit next to me at this table and hold my hand like this (I held her hand in both of mine), she would be dead the next day from an honor killing. Do you understand what an honor killing is? And they'd get away with it under sharia law. Do you for one minute think it is acceptable to allow them to do that shit?

DO YOU?"



Well, I made my point, but didn't change any minds. It never ceases to amaze me what harm the left-wing media does in shaping opinion. This guy spewed all of the headlines from MSNBC and CNN, without really understanding the underlying issues, nor really being able to defend his position.

Again, I respect his sales skills and his right to his opinion. I was disappointed that he couldn't articulate them better. And I'll bet that I came across as the cowboy that night...sigh.

Trained economists know all of this is true, but they try to rebut the facts nonetheless because they believe it will curry favor with their political benefactors.
