WSJ: Why Golf Is Sacred to Wall Streeters

Well, the Wall Street Journal has its own opinion (and those of others) about why golf is so important to the big boys on Wall Street. There is a slightly different reason that golf is important to middle-America's salespeople.

When else can you get 5 uninterrupted hours with a customer or potential customer? It's hard enough getting on people's calendars for an hour, especially if they are VP level and higher in an organization. If you can get them on the golf course, you can build a relationship and get to know them. Also, you can talk about the politics and process behind solving a customer's problems -- a key way to get to the sale.

This is why golf is approved on expense accounts.

Anyone want to guess what course this pic is from?
I took the picture from the 19th hole.

It's blurry because you didn't pay your dues for the LCC this year. Penalty beer!
