It does not take the knowledge of Emily Post to know that Queen Elizabeth should have been first on Sarkozy’s guest list for the 65th anniversary of D-Day. One fears he is taking protocol lessons from Obama and his wife.
This anniversary will most likely be the last for hundreds of WWII veterans coming to Normandy to walk the sandy beaches, view the cliffs that were scaled by US Rangers and visit the graves of those they call their brothers.
Those who are now in charge of running countries around the world don’t have a clue on how to show respect to the Queen and the role she played during WWII. Shame on all of them, including Gordon Brown, for not handling this matter and showing the world how grateful and thankful we are to her as well as all those who fought and gave their all on that day, D-Day.
